Present abuot this cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the factors associated with constipation among elderly patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD). The participants were recruited from the National Geriatric Hospital between July to September 2020. Constipation was diagnosed by using Bristol stool classification and Rome IV criteria. A total of 133 Parkinson older patients were enrolled in the study. In multivariable regression model, increased odds of constipation were significantly associated with low water consumption adjusted OR 4.55), low vegetable consumption (adjusted OR 6.16) and dependent activities of daily living ADL) (adjusted OR 3.98). ADL needs to be regularly assessed and water and vegetable consumption should be closely monitored in older PD patients in order to improve health and reduce risk of constipation.

Present about caring for an aging population is an emerging public health problem, and the quality of life (QoL) among the elderly is a significant concern. Our study aimed to describe the health - related quality of life (HRQoL) and factors associated with good HRQoL among the elderly in three communes of Hanam province in Vietnam. A cross - sectional design was used with a sample size of 479 participants aged 60 and above. HRQoL was measured using the SF - 36. Comparison of characteristics between those with high HRQoL and those with low HRQoL was done using Pearson chi - square tests. Results were reported using descriptive statistics and odds ratios with 95% CI (Confidence Interval). Many of the elderly had moderate HRQoL (41.3%), and elderly men were more likely to have higher QoL in terms of physical health and psychological health than elderly women. Our findings also indicated that some factors including older age, low educational level, those not living with their spouse, poor financial condition, having more than two health problems and possessing unhealthy drinking behaviors were significantly positive associated with HRQoL. Findings suggest interventions are needed to improve the quality of life among the elderly in rural areas of Vietnam.

Present about endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy has nowadays become a good choice in the management of primary acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction. We conducted this prospective study with two purposes: to describe surgical outcomes after 6-month follow-up and to assess related factors. 76 sides of 59 patients who underwent mechanical endoscopic endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy were enrolled in the study. The associations between several pre-, intra- and post-operative factors and surgical outcomes were analyzed. An overall success rate of 88.2% was recorded. Post-operative complications and dacryocystorhinostomy ostium scores were significantly associated with surgical success. We did not find a significant relationship between age, inflammation status, size of lacrimal sac and surgical bleeding with the overall rate of success.
