Tóm tắt
| Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS- CoV). Recently, the pneumonia that was detected in Chinese City of Wuhan is caused by a new type of Coronavirus confirmed as 2019-nCoV (COVID-19). The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus SARS-CoV—2 (2019-nCoV or COVlD-19) outbreak is an important reminder that the global community must strengthen national and international programs for early detection and response to future disease outbreaks. In fact, the virus genome of the nCoV in China was characterized by the next generation sequencing (NGS) technology. The advantage of NGS is the ability of characterizing the full viral genome by enabling phylogenetic characterization without any prior knowledge of the potential family. In turn, understanding the full sequence of the virus genome enables to estimate pathogenicity, track viral evolution, drive vaccine discovery, and thereby significantly contributes to formulation and execution of control strategies. |
