| Considering curdion and germacron as the main bioactive compounds of the Curcuma aromatica Salish, an HPLC method was developed for quantitative determination of them in the Curcuma aromatica (CA) soft gelatin capsules based on the available reported methods for curdion and germacron determination in C. aromatic extracts. The method was established as: Culumn - Perfecsil 100 ODS-3 (250 mm x 4.6 mm; 5 pm); Detector - UV (214 nm); Column temperature - 30°C; Mobile phase — acetonitrile and water, gradient mode; Flow rate - 1 ml/min. The ratios of acetonitrile were 42%; 55% and 49% at 0-15 min, 18-23 min and 30-52 min. As for specificity and suitability, the proposed method proved well meeting the conventional requirements. The linearity was desirably good for both curdion (y = 14922x. R2 = 1) and germacron (y = 66868x, R2 = 1). The % RSD values of inter-day precision of curdion and germacron were 1.13% and 1.21%, respectively. The recovery percentages of curdion and germacron were 99.96 — 103.55% and 97.42 — 102. 03%, respective This proposed HPLC method met the requirements of validation and showed useful for establishing the quality standard of CA soft capsules. |
