| The flavonoid Isovitexin and Vitexin in Vigna radiata (L.) R.Wilczeck. were analysed by HPLC. The method was established as: Column – Phenomenex (C18, 150 x 4,6 mm; 5µm); Mobile phase - 0.1% orthophosphoric acid in water (w/v) : Methanol (65:35); Flow- rate - 1.0ml/min. The method was validated over the concentration range of 5µg/ml-150µg/ml of Isovitexin and Vitexin each for the linearity (quite satisfactory, r=0.9996 and 0.9999, respectively), limit of detection (LOD=0.024µg/ml and 0.021µg/ml) and limit of quantification (LOQ=0.072µg/ml and 0.063µg/ml), recoveries (desirable > 99%). The content of Isovitexin and Vitexin in most samples collected in the market largely varied from one another, ranging from 3.57- 5.8 mg/g for Isovitexin and from 4.8- 7.7mg/g for Vitexin. |
