Tóm tắt As Epimedin C and icariin are taken as official biomarkers for Epimedium sp. by the 5thVietnamese Pharmacopoeia, an HPLC procedure was developed for their simultaneous determination in the plant extracts of Epimedium sp. The procedure was optimized as: Column - Thermo Hypersil Gold RP18 (150×4 mm; 3 μm), column temperature - 30oC; Detector – UV (270 nm); Mobile phase – acetonitrile-water 23:77 (v/v); Flow rate – 1.0 ml/min. By validation, the proposed method proved quite adequate compatibility, satisfactory specificity and desirable linearity (with R2 = 0.9999 and 0.9995 for epimedin Cicariin, respectively). In the RSD values (%), inter-day precisions of epimedin C and icariin were 1.363% and 1.636%, respectively. The recovery percentages were 98.74 – 100.72% for Cepimedin and 98.49 – 101.60% for icariin. In short, the proposed HPLC method met the validation requirements, proved practical aplicability to establishment of the quality standards, quality control categoria of EE and related products.
