A direct infusion MS/MS method was validated for rapid simultaneous determination of (1) betamethasone. (2) dexamethasone, (3) dexamethasone acetate, (4) fluocinolone acetonide, (5) methylprednisolone. (6) prednisoione, (7) tn‘amcinolon acetonide, (8) clobetasol propionate, (9) hydrocortisone acetate, (10) prednisolon acetate, (11) prednison as adulterants in dietary supplements for arthritis treatment. The MS/MS procedure was experimentally optimized as: Capillary voltage - 3.8 kV, desolvation temperature - 400°C, gas flow rate - 900 L/h, cone voltage - 15V, and collision cell energy - 12V and 18% Forinjection sample, the controlled sample was dissolved in a methanolic solution offormic acid 0.1% (70:30) by 10 minutes‘ ultrasonication. Validation proved the method having high specificity and a very good limit ofdetection (1.8-4.6 ppb and 007—1. 14 ppb for M81 full scan and daughters scan mode, respectively. As for practical tests, 45 supplementaryproducts for arthritis treatment were controlled, of these, 17 (37. 7%) were revealed to contain the adulterant corticosteroids in question.
