Introductory quantum mechanics : a traditional approach emphasizing connections with classical physics / Paul R. Berman Cham, Switzerland : Springer, 2018 641 pages : illustrations Ký hiệu phân loại (DDC): 530.12 This book presents a basic introduction to quantum mechanics at the undergraduate level. Depending on the choice of topics, it can be used for a one-semester or two-semester course. An attempt has been made to anticipate the conceptual problems students encounter when they first study quantum mechanics. Wherever possible, examples are given to illustrate the underlying physics associated with the mathematical equations of quantum mechanics. To this end, connections are made with corresponding phenomena in classical mechanics and electromagnetism. The problems at the end of each chapter are intended to help students master the course material and to explore more advanced topics. Many calculations exploit the extraordinary capabilities of computer programs such as Mathematica, MatLab, and Maple. Students are urged to use these programs, just as they had been urged to use calculators in the past. The treatment of various topics is rather complete, in that most steps in derivations are included. Several of the chapters go beyond what is traditionally covered in an introductory course. The goal of the presentation is to provide the students with a solid background in quantum mechanics.#xE000. Số bản sách:

Lecture notes on field theory in condensed matter physics / Christopher Mudry New Jersey : World Scientific, 2014 xx, 724 pages. : illustrations ; 26 cm. Ký hiệu phân loại (DDC): 530.41 The aim of this book is to introduce a graduate student to selected concepts in condensed matter physics for which the language of field theory is ideally suited. The examples considered in this book are those of superfluidity for weakly interacting bosons, collinear magnetism, and superconductivity. Quantum phase transitions are also treated in the context of quantum dissipative junctions and interacting fermions constrained to one-dimensional position space. The style of presentation is sufficiently detailed and comprehensive that it only presumes familiarity with undergraduate physics. Số bản sách:

Lectures in particle physics / Dan Green Singapore : World Scientific, 1994 vii, 475 pages. : illustrations ; 24 cm. Ký hiệu phân loại (DDC): 539.72 The aim of this book on particle physics is to present the theory in a simple way. The style and organization of the material is unique in that intuition is employed, not formal theory or the Monte Carlo method. This volume attempts to be more physical and less abstract than other texts without degenerating into a presentation of data without interpretation. This book is based on four courses of lectures conducted at Fermilab. It should prove very useful to advanced undergraduates and graduate students Số bản sách:

Noncommutative cosmology / Matilde Marcolli Singapore : World Scientific Publishing Co., 2018 xv, 275 pages. : illustrations ; 24 cm. Ký hiệu phân loại (DDC): 530.12 Modified gravity models play an important role in contemporary theoretical cosmology. The present book proposes a novel approach to the topic based on techniques from noncommutative geometry, especially the spectral action functional as a gravity model. The book discusses applications to early universe models and slow-roll inflation models, to the problem of cosmic topology, to non-isotropic cosmologies like mixmaster universes and Bianchi IX gravitational instantons, and to multifractal structures in cosmology. Relations between noncommutative and algebro-geometric methods in cosmology is also discussed, including the occurrence of motives, periods, and modular forms in spectral models of gravity.
