Images of a Complex World : the Art and Poetry of Chaos (With Cd-Rom) / Robin Chapman, Julien Clinton Sprott Singapore : World Scientific Publishing Company, 2005 xvi, 175 pages : illustrations ; 29 cm. Ký hiệu phân loại (DDC): 530.11 With the poems written by winner of the Posner Poetry Award from the Council of Wisconsin Writers in 2005, this coffee-table book will delight and inform general readers curious about ideas of chaos, fractals, and nonlinear complex systems. Developed out of ten years of interdisciplinary seminars in chaos and complex systems at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, it features multiple ways of knowing: Robin Chapman's poems of everyday experience of change in a complex world, associated metaphorically with Julien Clinton Sprott's full-color computer art generated from billions of versions of on Số bản sách:

Quantum fractals : from Heisenberg's uncertainty to Barnsley's fractality / Arkadiusz Jadczyk New Jersey : World Scientific, 2014 xi, 345 pages. : ill. (some col.) ; 25 cm. Ký hiệu phân loại (DDC): 515.42 Starting with numerical algorithms resulting in new kinds of amazing fractal patterns on the sphere, this book describes the theory underlying these phenomena and indicates possible future applications. The book also explores the following questions: What are fractals? How do fractal patterns emerge from quantum observations and relativistic light aberration effects? What are the open problems with iterated function systems based on Mobius transformations? Can quantum fractals be experimentally detected? What are quantum jumps? Is quantum theory complete and/or universal? Is the standard interpretation of Heisenberg's uncertainty relations accurate? What is Event Enhanced Quantum Theory and how does it differs from spontaneous localization theories? What are the possible applications of quantum fractals? Số bản sách:

Resonance and bifurcation to chaos in pendulum / Albert C. J. Luo Beijing : World Scientific, 2018 xii, 238 page. ; 24 cm. Ký hiệu phân loại (DDC): 531.45 A periodically forced mathematical pendulum is one of the typical and popular nonlinear oscillators that possess complex and rich dynamical behaviors. Although the pendulum is one of the simplest nonlinear oscillators, yet, until now, we are still not able to undertake a systematical study of periodic motions to chaos in such a simplest system due to lack of suitable mathematical methods and computational tools. To understand periodic motions and chaos in the periodically forced pendulum, the perturbation method has been adopted. One could use the Taylor series to expend the sinusoidal function to the polynomial nonlinear terms, followed by traditional perturbation methods to obtain the periodic motions of the approximated differential system. This book discusses Hamiltonian chaos and periodic motions to chaos in pendulums. This book first detects and discovers chaos in resonant layers and bifurcation trees of periodic motions to chaos in pendulum in the comprehensive fashion, which is a base to understand the behaviors of nonlinear dynamical systems, as a results of Hamiltonian chaos in the resonant layers and bifurcation trees of periodic motions to chaos. The bifurcation trees of travelable and non-travelable periodic motions to chaos will be presented through the periodically forced pendulum. Số bản sách:
