Vietnamese cultural heritage is a valuable asset of the Vietnamese ethnic community, and a part of humanity's cultural heritage. Local cultural heritage is spiritual and material products with historical and cultural values that are passed down from generation to generation in each locality. Allowing students to access local history through cultural heritage offers a deep understanding of local history, educating them about the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of national pride and a sense of appreciating, preserving and promoting cultural values. The article analyzed the current situation of exploring local history through cultural heritage based on the survey results with 370 students in a number of high schools in Ben Tre province. It is shown that the students did not know much about cultural heritage in their locality. Accordingly, the author recommends five main measures to help students access local history through cultural heritage. This is a useful document that makes an important contribution to preserving and promoting cultural heritage in Ben Tre province today.
