An HPLC method for qualitative and quantitive determination of the antioxidant salvianolic 8 acid in the tablets containing Salvia miltiorrhiza was developed as: Column — Gemini C18 (25 cm x 4.6 mm, 5 pm); Detector - UV (286 nm); Mobile phase - acetonitrile and 0.1 % formic acid solution, in gradient mode; Flow rate — 1.0 ml/min. The method was validated in compliance with the [CH guidelines. The linearity was quite good at the range of 11.2 — 112 pg/ml (r > 0.999); RSD of intra- and inter-day precision variations < 2.0 %; mean recovery was (99.88 i 0.54)% (RSD = 0.70 %).

A reverse-phase HPLC method for determination of the constituent compounds in Mupirocin cream was developed: Column – Agilent C8 (25 cm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm); detector - UV (240 nm); Column temperature - 35 oC; Mobile phase - tetrahydrofuran and pH 5.7 ammonium acetate buffer, gradient elution; Flow rate - 1.0 ml/min. The method was validated by the ICH guidelines: The linearity was good at the range of 2.1 – 7.0 mg•mL−1 (r > 0.998); RSD of intra-and inter-day precision variations < 10.0 %. The method proved simple, accurate, suitable for quality control in mupirocin cream.
