Lecture notes on field theory in condensed matter physics / Christopher Mudry

The aim of this book is to introduce a graduate student to selected concepts in condensed matter physics for which the language of field theory is ideally suited. The examples considered in this book are those of superfluidity for weakly interacting bosons, collinear magnetism, and superconductivity. Quantum phase transitions are also treated in the context of quantum dissipative junctions and interacting fermions constrained to one-dimensional position space. The style of presentation is sufficiently detailed and comprehensive that it only presumes familiarity with undergraduate physics.

This volume introduces the world of chaotic systems and some of the notable probabilistic techniques developed in the field. Treated models have been widely used in research, for example, polymer pinning on a defect line, behavior of copolymers near the interface between selective solvents, and transformation. DNA count. Despite the apparent heterogeneity of this list, mathematically, a unified vision emerges. In fact, one is dealing with natural statistical mechanistic systems built on classical innovation sequences by introducing single-body potentials. This volume is also an independent mathematical account of state of the art for this kind of statistical mechanical model
