NTTU – The Council of Nguyen Tat Thanh University has issued a decision to appoint Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong to the position of principal.

Attending the ceremony were: Dr. Nguyen Mai Lan - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the School Council; Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy - Vice Chairman of the School Council; Dr. Nguyen Van Luong - Vice Chairman of the School Council; Dr. Tran Van Ai - Vice Chairman of the School Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong - Member of the School Council, Vice Principal; Assoc. Prof. Dr. LG. Ngo Dong Khanh - Member of the School Council, Senior Advisor of the Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Vice Principal; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong - Vice Principal; Together with teachers are representatives of departments, faculties/institutes, and centers throughout the school.

The Council of Nguyen Tat Thanh University has approved the decision to appoint Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong as the Rector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University for a period of 1 year from November 24, 2025 to November 23, 2026. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong will receive duties and powers under the direction of the University Council.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong was born in 1957, from Bac Ninh. He is an educational administrator with nearly 4 decades of experience in teaching, research and university administration. He graduated with a PhD in geography from Hanoi National University of Education I in 1994 and was recognized as an associate professor in 2003. At the same time, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong has held many important leadership positions at higher education institutions.

From 1978 to June 2017, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong worked as a lecturer and then held the position of Vice Head of the Department of Geography, Vice Principal, and Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. From January 2020 to December 2021, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong worked as Vice Principal of Van Hien University. He was also the Editor-in-Chief of the geography section of the history-geography textbooks (grades Six to Nine) and Editor-in-Chief of the geography textbooks (grades Ten to Twelve) of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, general education program 2018.

From 2023 to November 2025, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong worked at the Journal of Science and Technology of Nguyen Tat Thanh University as Editor-in-Chief. After that, he was appointed as Rector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

In her speech at the inauguration and acceptance of the assignment, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong expressed her emotion when the Board of Nguyen Tat Thanh University entrusted her with the important responsibility of Rector. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong said that this is not only a management position but also a  "commitment to the history of more than 26 years of formation and development of the school" , from the early days when the late Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung laid the foundation with the aspiration to build a mass educational environment where knowledge must be closely linked to life.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong is expected to create a new breeze in administration, promoting the orientation of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in the next phase.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong said that the value that makes up the brand of Nguyen Tat Thanh University does not lie in modern facilities but in the people - the dedicated teaching staff and generations of enthusiastic students. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong affirmed that the philosophy of "Real learning - Practice - Real reputation - Real career" will continue to be the guiding principle to help Nguyen Tat Thanh University adapt to the context of digital transformation and the rapid changes of the global labor market. In her new position, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong commits to working with the leadership and teaching staff to build Nguyen Tat Thanh University into a humane, united, and creative academic environment, where all efforts are listened to and recognized.

“Student success is a measure of the success of the school and of educators” – Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong emphasized.

Previously, Nguyen Tat Thanh University also appointed Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam as Vice Rector of the University. With a solid professional foundation and extensive experience in educational administration, Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam is expected to contribute to the planning of long-term strategies of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, promote comprehensive digital transformation, improve the quality of research and training and expand international cooperation. This personnel addition not only helps strengthen administrative capacity but also demonstrates Nguyen Tat Thanh University's determination to build an advanced, sustainable and integrated educational ecosystem.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University has completed the restructuring of the Board of Directors with 7 members.

Thus, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has completed the personnel of the School Board of Directors including 7 members: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong - Principal, and Vice Principals: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Hong, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Dr. Hoang Huu Dung and Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam.
