NTTU Library attended the 22nd Annual Conference of the Vietnam Library Consortium on Science and Technology Information Resources

On October 24, 2025 , in Da Nang , the Department of Information and Statistics (Ministry of Science and Technology) organized the 22nd Annual Conference of the Vietnam Library Consortium on Science and Technology Information Resources . The conference was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh , leaders of the Department of Information and Statistics, representatives of the Departments of Science and Technology, international publishers such as ScienceDirect, Springer Nature, iGroup Vietnam , and more than 80 delegates from information and library agencies nationwide.

Speaking at the Conference, Director Tran Dac Hien emphasized the key role of libraries and scientific information in the national knowledge ecosystem , especially in the era of data and artificial intelligence (AI) . He pointed out three prominent trends affecting the library sector today: digitalization of knowledge and open data , application of AI in information processing , and changes in user behavior . Libraries need to transform from traditional models to digital knowledge centers , providing proactive, intelligent and interactive services on digital platforms.

The Consortium's performance report shows that in the 2024-2025 period , the Vietnamese library system has made strong progress in digital transformation , deploying national databases on science and technology , linking access to many international sources such as ProQuest, Scopus, Springer Nature, IEEE... The Consortium also promotes the sharing of endogenous sources, develops open research data, popularizes the Openscience.vn and V-Compas platforms , contributing to expanding the scientific knowledge sharing network nationwide.

In his speech, Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh highly appreciated the efforts of the Vietnam Library Consortium and suggested the need to reshape the activities of the Consortium in the context of digital transformation and AI. He emphasized the importance of information resources, human resources and organization , considering it the foundation for national science and technology potential. In addition to perfecting the data system and information sharing mechanism, the Deputy Minister also requested to focus on fostering the capacity of quality library human resources , enhancing digital skills and applying AI, towards building an open, modern and interconnected knowledge ecosystem .

The annual conference is an opportunity for the Vietnam Library Consortium community to look back on a year of efforts, share experiences, orient new steps and spread the spirit of cooperation and innovation in the field of information and libraries.
