University admission 2025: High school transcripts are still the preferred choice of many candidates

NTTU – In the context of increasingly diverse university admission methods, high school transcript admission still retains great appeal thanks to its outstanding advantages and stability. Therefore, transcripts are always the method that many candidates prioritize.
Reflecting the learner's overall capacity
If the 2006 General Education Program only focused on knowledge, the 2018 General Education Program focuses on comprehensively developing students' qualities and abilities, so the high school report card for the entire 12th grade will more clearly reflect the learner's abilities through scores.
Dr. Tran Ai Cam - Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh University said that in addition to assessing knowledge through tests, the 2018 General Education Program also focuses on the learning process, progress and ability to apply knowledge into practice of students. Therefore, the report card not only records the learning results of each subject, but also shows the development of thinking, problem-solving skills, communication, cooperation and self-study ability. This is an important basis to help universities and colleges have a more comprehensive view in the admission process, thereby selecting suitable and potential candidates.

Candidates come to NTTU to review their transcripts before the 2025 High School Graduation Exam
Dr. Cam added that currently, universities offer a variety of admission methods to attract students to apply, in which admission based on high school transcripts is always the traditional admission method chosen by many candidates. It is understandable that candidates prioritize admission based on high school transcripts because of the advantages of this method. Especially, when the high school exam is approaching, admission based on high school transcripts not only reduces exam pressure but also helps candidates increase their chances of being admitted to their desired major.
It can be seen that admission based on high school transcripts is not only a convenient admission method but also a tool that accurately reflects the ability and efforts of students throughout the 12th grade. Thanks to that, students have more opportunities to be recognized for their actual abilities, thereby confidently choosing the right major and gradually asserting themselves on the path of education.
Many advantages, high chance of being accepted
With many advantages such as simple procedures, flexible admission combinations and true reflection of academic ability, the high school transcript admission method continues to be the top choice of many candidates in this year's admission season. At Nguyen Tat Thanh University, although early admission is no longer implemented, the school still receives many requests for advice from candidates and parents every day regarding choosing majors, career orientation and especially registering for high school transcript admission.

High school transcripts are always chosen by many candidates.
It is known that Nguyen Tat Thanh University still maintains 4 stable admission methods as in previous years, at the same time adjusting and updating the admission criteria and combinations to ensure fairness in admission. In particular, the school plans to consider admission results that meet 1 of the following criteria:
- Considering the whole year's grade 12 score: the total average score of the whole year's grade 12 subjects according to the subject group must be 18 or higher.
- Consider the total average score of all subjects in grade 12 according to the combined subject group. High school graduation exam score/National University entrance exam score is from 18 or higher.
- Consider high school graduation score from 6.0 or higher.
This method not only helps candidates reduce exam pressure but also increases their chances of being admitted to their favorite major. However, to avoid mistakes, candidates need to carefully check the information in their application and register their official wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training system. They should prioritize their 1st and 2nd wishes for their favorite majors, especially those with high competition, to increase their chances of being admitted.
With many flexible admission options suitable for a variety of candidates, admission based on high school transcripts has opened up many opportunities for candidates to reach their career dreams. The final stage before the high school graduation exam is the golden time for candidates to take advantage of their transcripts and conquer their dream major.
