NTTU – On May 20 and 21, 2025, the Nguyen Tat Thanh University Council completed the work of summarizing the activities of the University Council for the 2020-2025 term, and elected members representing staff, lecturers, and employees to participate in the University Council for the 2025-2030 term. At the same time, the University Council for the 2025-2030 term was announced and launched.

Attending the conference were members of the Board of Directors of Saigon Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company, the University Council, the Board of Directors of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and teachers representing faculties, departments, centers, and institutes throughout the University.

5 years of continuous effort and development

It can be said that in the past term, under the support of the Board of Directors and the correct directions of the University Council, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has developed remarkably, increasingly affirming the position, reputation and prestige of the University in the Vietnamese and world education system.

Reporting on the summary of activities, Dr. Nguyen Mai Lan - Party Secretary, Chairman of the University Council for the 2020 - 2025 term said that in the past term, the University Council has set out strategic directions and directed the implementation of development strategies of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in the period of 2020 - 2025, with a vision to 2035, with many commendable results in human resources, operations, management, training, scientific research, digital transformation, innovation, etc. Not only did the results reach 100%, some of the University's goals and indicators were excellent, exceeding the set plan. The University Council has performed well in its role as the highest governance body, contributing significantly to strategic orientation, monitoring activities and formulating sustainable development policies of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

Dr. Nguyen Mai Lan reported on the 2020-2025 term summary of the Council of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

Up to now, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has trained more than 30,000 students, trainees, and postgraduates with 20 faculties, 81 undergraduate training programs, 14 master's training programs, and 4 doctoral training programs. Throughout the efforts of the teaching staff, the University has achieved many outstanding achievements in accreditation and ranking, affirming the prestige of the university named after Uncle Ho in his youth. Nguyen Tat Thanh University is in the top 34% of the best universities in Asia on the QS Asia Ranking 2025, Top 20% of universities worldwide on THE Impact Rankings 2024, Top 4 Vietnamese universities on the URAP World Ranking, Top 5% of world universities on the Webometrics Ranking, Top 3 Vietnamese universities on the SCImago Ranking...

In addition, Nguyen Tat Thanh University also carried out 41 state-level scientific research projects, 71 ministerial-level projects and equivalent, 1082 school-level projects, 2092 student scientific research projects, 3947 scientific articles published in prestigious international journals in the ISI/SCOPUS system, 1642 domestic articles published in prestigious domestic journals. In addition, the University also owns 9 invention patents, and has nearly 80 patent applications that have been accepted and are in the process of implementation.

“The 2020-2025 term is a meaningful period, marking important steps in the process of building and developing the School in the context of constantly innovating higher education. The members of the School's Youth Union have strived to fulfill their role as the highest governing body, contributing significantly to the implementation of strategies, monitoring activities and promoting policies for the sustainable development of the School”  – Dr. Nguyen Mai Lan emphasized.

In addition to the achievements, the School Council also recognized the aspects that need to be overcome in the coming term. In particular, it highlighted the need to strengthen coordination between the School Council and the Board of Directors in exchanging, sharing information and implementing tasks. In addition, it reviewed and adjusted the regulations and operating mechanisms to create more favorable conditions for the activities of the School Council.

Completed the personnel work of the School Council for the 2025-2030 term

At the Conference, the School Council completed the work of introducing and electing 3 members representing staff, lecturers, and employees to join the School Council for the 2025-2030 term with an almost absolute number of votes of confidence. Of which, 3 personnel were introduced to join the School Council for the 2025-2030 term, including:

• Dr. Tran Ai Cam - Member of the University Council for the 2020 - 2025 term, Rector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University;
• Dr. Hoang Huu Dung - Member of the School Council for the 2020 - 2025 term, Vice Principal;
• Associate Professor, Dr. LG. Ngo Dong Khanh - Chairman of the Council of Science and Technology, Senior Advisor to the Faculty of Dentistry, Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

3 members representing staff, lecturers and employees participating in the School Council for the 2025-2030 term

Staff, lecturers and employees of Nguyen Tat Thanh University elected 3 representatives to join the University Council for the 2025-2030 term.

Thus, the Council of Nguyen Tat Thanh University has completed the work of perfecting the personnel apparatus for the 2025-2030 term, including 11 members.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University Council for the 2025-2030 term

Immediately after completing the personnel structure, the Nguyen Tat Thanh University Council for the 2025-2030 term held its first meeting. In which, the University Council highly agreed on the development goals for the new term, focusing on synchronously implementing key solutions such as:

• • Improve the quality of input and output learners through improving enrollment, strengthening scholarship policies and adjusting training programs towards flexibility, modernity and integration.
  • Promote scientific research, application and international publication, gradually form strong research groups, contribute to affirming academic position and enhancing the reputation and academic performance of the school at home and abroad.
  • Develop a team of high-quality lecturers with a reasonable recruitment, training and remuneration strategy, creating conditions for lecturers to improve their qualifications and promote their teaching and research capacity effectively.
  • Promote comprehensive digital transformation in administration and training, gradually building universities towards smart, efficient and flexible direction.
  • Expanding in-depth international collaboration, aiming to internationalize training programs and enhance students' competitiveness in the global labor market.
  • Gradually diversify revenue sources and increase financial autonomy, thereby creating a solid foundation for in-depth investment activities in infrastructure and human development.

In the new term, the University Council is expected to play a central role in planning the long-term development strategy of the University, ensuring the connection between the mission of training, research and community service with the development requirements of society and modern educational trends. We are confident that the University Council will successfully complete the assigned tasks, continuing to affirm Nguyen Tat Thanh University's reputation in the Vietnamese and international education systems.
