NTTU – Diverse cultural spaces with many mysteries, dynamic economies with increasingly affirmed positions in the world – those are the first sketches of the “portraits” of Eastern cultures such as Japan, Korea,… and also the highlight of Oriental Studies – the field of study “traveling” through cultures.

Not only providing the opportunity to learn and explore the ancient cultures of mankind, Oriental Studies today also attracts the attention of young people because of its dynamism, excitement and extremely diverse career opportunities.

Oriental studies is a field of study that focuses on the study of the cultures, histories, languages, religions, philosophies and arts of Eastern countries, such as major cultures such as Japan, Korea, East Asia, Southeast Asia, etc. The purpose is to explore and analyze the development and diversity of these countries and regions, helping to create a deep understanding of the characteristics and values of Eastern culture. From there, Oriental studies makes an important contribution to building and maintaining relationships and understanding between countries and cultures in the world.

Students enjoy "traveling" and exploring many cultures

As a major specializing in Eastern countries, Oriental Studies takes students on a “flight” to discover new and interesting things right from the first year. That “flight” will depart with general knowledge about the culture, society, economy, and diplomacy of Eastern countries in general. Next, students will choose a “destination” for themselves – a major such as Japanese Studies, Korean Studies – to both learn specialized knowledge and equip themselves with language skills.

In particular, Oriental Studies students are trained to be able to use specialized foreign languages fluently - such as Japanese, Korean - in many different fields. In addition, they are also equipped with many complementary skills such as human resource management, marketing, commerce, tourism, diplomacy, etc. This training orientation is both in-depth and extensive, closely following the reality of the labor market, helping students to be more proactive and confident in the modern environment - when businesses need human resources who are both specialized and good at foreign languages.

Expand your international experience

Vietnam currently has good cooperative relations with many countries in the world, becoming a potential investment destination attracting foreign corporations and enterprises in general and Asian enterprises in particular. Therefore, graduates of Oriental Studies are considered a "valuable" human resource in the integration trend.

In addition, the school has close relationships with organizations, businesses, and universities from Eastern countries such as Japan, Korea, and Thailand, so students majoring in Oriental Studies will regularly exchange, intern, and practice to perfect their professional skills. This is an important foundation for students after graduation to confidently find a job and do well in their assigned work, always be confident, have practical experience, and fluent foreign language skills, which are highly appreciated and favored by many businesses when recruiting.

Not only that, NTTU Oriental Studies students also study in many other unique ways! Youth is about being busy – busy studying, busy competing, busy with international exchanges and busy “painting” one’s youth. A series of academic competitions and talent competitions are held regularly; international exchange programs with distant friends from universities in Japan, Korea, etc. come to visit and study.

NTTU connects with a wide network of businesses, ensuring the best conditions for the School's students to have the opportunity to study and work in a foreign environment.
