Nguyen Tat Thanh University responds to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025

In response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025, Nguyen Tat Thanh University organized a series of diverse and practical activities, contributing to spreading reading culture, promoting sustainable education, digital transformation, and connecting knowledge with the community.

1. New book space at the Library – Connecting academics and research

Nguyen Tat Thanh University Library has organized an exhibition and introduced new books in many specialized fields, in order to meet the teaching, learning and research needs of lecturers and students. Not only is it a simple activity to update document sources, the program also contributes to spreading the value of books and reading culture to the reading community.

2. Communication to introduce Open Educational Resources – Towards open knowledge and lifelong learning

The School's reading culture development activities are demonstrated through promoting communication to introduce Open Educational Resources (OER) - a global trend, helping learners access diverse, free and legal knowledge. On the occasion of the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025, the Information Center - Library respectfully introduces to readers the video "What is an OER?" - a derivative product from the open educational resources. The Library encourages readers to continue exploring other types of OER resources through the NTTU OERs website , thereby promoting the spirit of proactive learning, creativity and self-development in the digital environment, contributing to the implementation of the sustainable development goal SDG4 - Promoting lifelong learning.

3. NTTU Book Fair 2025 – “Books accompany students”

With the theme “Books accompany students”, the Information Center - Library of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in collaboration with Thai Ha Books organized the NTTU Book Fair 2025, attracting a large number of students to participate. The event took place from April 14 to 18, 2025, with many preferential book stalls, a variety of books and stationery accessories. The book fair not only contributes to spreading the reading culture among young people but also builds a community of students who love books, aiming for lifelong learning values.

4. Discussion on the topic "Developing reading culture in the digital age"

Aiming to raise awareness of the role of reading books and documents in all forms (paper books, e-books, audio books, etc.), the discussion not only contributes to developing reading comprehension skills, information selection and critical thinking in the digital environment, towards Sustainable Development Goal SDG 4 - Quality Education, but also affirms that reading culture is the foundation for building a fair, equal and sustainable society, towards Sustainable Development Goal SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

5. Book display at the Book Street Exhibition on Trung Nu Vuong Street, Tra Vinh City

Aiming at the value of connecting knowledge with the community, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has accompanied the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province within the framework of the Book Street Exhibition event on Trung Nu Vuong street, Tra Vinh city. Here, the University displayed typical books and introduced activities to promote reading culture, attracting the attention of many students, teachers and local people.

6. Donating books to 03 high schools in Tra Vinh city, total value of 16 million VND.
Affirming its pioneering role in accompanying the educational community, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has donated books worth 15 million VND to three high schools in Tra Vinh city, including: Pham Thai Buong High School, Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted and Tra Vinh Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities. This activity contributes to building the habit of reading for local students, towards developing thinking, skills and inspiring learning. This is not only a material gift but also a spiritual support, spreading the reading culture in schools and nurturing the spirit of proactive learning in high school students.

7. Organize STEM experience activities festival for students in Tra Vinh province.

Within the framework of activities in Tra Vinh, Nguyen Tat Thanh University organized the STEM Festival 2025 for students, bringing many creative science, technology, engineering and mathematics experiences. The event not only contributed to stimulating creative thinking but also helped students discover practical applications of interdisciplinary knowledge. Lecturers from the Institute of Interdisciplinary Sciences and the Faculty of Applied Science & Technology directly guided students to learn about scientific models such as standing waves, infinite mirrors, 3D printers, clean water filter column models, etc. Through that, the STEM program not only helps students apply knowledge into practice but also aims to develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, encourage creative and proactive learning - core factors to form the ability to self-study, self-research and adapt in a modern learning environment.

The series of activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 of Nguyen Tat Thanh University not only affirms the role of the school in developing a reading culture, but also strongly spreads the spirit of lifelong learning, connecting knowledge between the school and the community.
