NTTU – Recently, the 26th Euréka Student Scientific Research Award 2024 announced the results of the awards, in which Nguyen Tat Thanh University had 4 winning topics.

The final round of the Euréka Student Scientific Research Award 2024 took place from December 6 to 8 at Saigon University with many activities such as: Presentation reports before the scientific council; Exchange program, Euréka Student Scientific Research Award camp; Summary and award ceremony. In the final round, there were 188 topics competing from 88 Universities, Colleges, and Academies.

This year, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has 88 topics participating in 13 fields including: Food Technology, Chemistry, Natural Resources and Environment, Agricultural Science, Biology, Educational Science, Medical Science - Pharmacy, Administration - Law, Social Science, Culture - Arts, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Economics. Of which, the University has 4 outstanding topics in the final round.

In the final result, all 4 topics of Nguyen Tat Thanh University won prizes, specifically:

The topic  "Developing adventure tourism at Kong sinkhole, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh province: Towards sustainability and safety"  by author Vo Hoang Phi with the guidance of MSc. Truong Phuc Hai in the field of Culture - Arts won the second prize.

The topic  "Copyright protection for works created by artificial intelligence - some suggestions for Vietnam from the experience of other countries"  by author Nguyen Le Anh Thu with the guidance of MSc. Nguyen Ngoc Anh Tien in the field of Administration - Law excellently won the third prize.

02 Encouragement prizes went to the topic  "Building a molecular docking model on inflammation-related targets"  by the group of authors Bui Long Hai - Than Trung Hieu - Nguyen Tien Dat - Le Hoa Hoang Tin with the guidance of Dr. Phan Thien Vy in the field of Biology and the topic  "Treatment of Methyl red in aqueous solution by photocatalytic decomposition method using silver nanoparticles synthesized from guava leaf extract"  by authors Mai Minh Tam and Doan Ngoc Han with the guidance of Dr. Trieu Quoc An in the field of Chemistry.

Winning the second prize of the 2024 Euréka Student Scientific Research Award, Vo Hoang Phi, a student majoring in Vietnamese Studies, shared that he was surprised and happy to win the award, because the original purpose was to learn from experience as well as receive comments from leading experts for the research project. The choice of this topic was based on his passion for adventure travel, from which he conducted in-depth research and carried out the scientific research topic. Through the topic, Hoang Phi hopes to raise awareness about the environment, showing the sustainable economic value of preserving what Mother Nature has bestowed. In addition, he wants Vietnamese adventure tourism to be widely promoted, with majestic beauty that is no less than that of other countries.

Not only stopping at the research project, Hoang Phi will expand and develop the topic in depth, from the difficulty to affirm that the field of scientific research on Culture - Tourism of Vietnam needs to be promoted in many aspects.

Sharing the same feelings of joy and pride, MSc. Truong Phuc Hai - Lecturer of the Faculty of Tourism shared about the journey with Hoang Phi to carry out the topic. MSc. Hai said that the biggest difficulty was collecting and processing actual data from stakeholders in the tour "Conquering the peak of Kong sinkhole adventure". Due to the specific nature of adventure tourism, the number of tourists participating in the tour was limited, making achieving the required number of surveys a big challenge. However, thanks to perseverance and support from partners, teachers and students overcame and completed the work with high-quality data.

Regarding the future of the topic, MSc. Truong Phuc Hai added that the topic received high evaluation from the jury because choosing the topic of adventure tourism was also "risky" because this is still a relatively new field in Vietnam, with not much research. It is this newness that has created special value and challenges for this research. MSc. Hai hopes that Vo Hoang Phi will continue to expand and analyze the topic in depth, not only stopping at the current achievements but also going further at the master's and doctoral levels. With great potential, this topic can become the foundation for valuable scientific works, contributing practically to the sustainable development of adventure tourism in Vietnam.

The year 2024 is the 8th year that Nguyen Tat Thanh University has continuously had a winning topic at the Euréka Student Scientific Research Award. Notably, in 2023, the University for the first time had a topic winning the First Prize in the award in the field of Engineering with the project Research, design, and manufacture of 4-parameter Monitor device by student Truong Thi Thuy Trang in the field of Engineering under the guidance of MSc. Nguyen Sy Suu. In addition, students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University also brought home many competition awards such as Second Prize, Third Prize, Encouragement Prize, Poster Prize and Student Story Prize.
